|Abstract: ||Organizational life is quite stressful. Work pressures, tight schedules, meetings that never seem to end on time, unhelpful colleagues, critical bosses, and a host of other irritating factors may all have a cumulative effect in making the lives of modern-day executives quite miserable. As we all know, stress is the body s reaction to any demand made on it. Perceptions of events, whether positive or negative, activate stress. The productivity of employees and overall productivity of organization is affected by levels of stress and motivation. This research is specially related with Occupational stress and its impact on work factors of Jammuand Kashmir Bank.The Jammu and Kashmir Bank was founded on October 1, 1938 under letters patent issued by the Maharaja of Jammu and Kashmir, Hari Singh. The Maharaja invited eminent Kashmiri investors to become founding directors and shareholders of the bank, the most notable of which were Abdul Aziz Mantoo, Pesten Gee and the Bhaghat Family, all of whom acquired major shareholdings. The Bank commenced business on July 4, 1939 and was considered the first of its nature and composition as a State owned bank in the country. Enough research has not been done in the context of banking industry, because of certain peculiar features, like tight worship schedule, work load etc. the changing working scenario of banking industry, due to the sizeable increase in volume of banking business, competitive environment created due entry of new private sectored and foreign banks, has increased the risk of stress among the employees worship this industry. It has also affected the motivation level of employees to a large extent. Therefore, in order to assess the Occupational stress and its impact on work factors of Jammuand Kashmir Bank, the present study has been taken up.
