Title: Correlation of Serum Adropin Level with or without complications of Diabetes Mellitus

Abstract: Adropin is a peptide hormone encoded by the Energy Homeostasis Associated (ECHO) genewhose physiological role and clinical significance in different disease in human is incompletely understood and therefore holds a important value for research . This protein consists of 76 amino acids, and it was originally described as a secreted peptide, with residues 1-33 en-coding a secretory signal peptide sequence.As shown by previous research, serum Adropinlevel changes in various physiological and pathophysiological conditions. Significant relation is found between the serum level of adropin and other different parameter in different disease. Role of adropin is demonstrated mainly in type 2 diabetes mellitus cardiovascular disease, diabetic nephropathy. Further studies are to be conducted to elucidate the mechanism underlying the association of this protein in different pathological conditions. newlineAim of the study is to correlate the serum level of Adropin in Diabetes Mellitus with and without complication with different parameters. The study also aims to find the correlation of Serum Adropinwith different parameters in Gestational diabetes Mellitus. Major aim of the study is to imply the knowledge generated from the data to establish Adropin as a diagnostic marker and therapeutic agent in Diabetes mellitus.Study includes 200 patients suffering from type 2 Diabetes Mellitus without complications like nephropathy and retinopathy and 50 patients in each category of Diabetic nephropathy, Diabetic retinopathy and Gestational diabetes mellitus. Serum glucose , lipid profile ,urea and creatinine will be estimated by kit in automated analyser and Adropin and insulin will be estimated by ELISA. newline
